Expert Review
Although skinners has been around for some time, its popularity has increased dramatically over the last few years. their success has been helped by the economic turmoil which has led a lot of dog owners to look for savings and since skinners offers many of the characteristics of the top-end, natural foods but at a much lower price, it has become the obvious choice.skinner's adult sensitive chicken & rice contains skinners' 'culinary herb mix' - an excellent mix of seaweed, alfalfa, thyme, fennel, basil, parsley, peppermint, garlic, paprika, rosemary, sage, aniseed, fenugreek and yucca (courtesy of the skinner's website) which would be great in any food, but is particularly remarkable at this price. chicken meat meal is also used which is a high-quality meat source.it is important to note, however, that it does not meet the high standards set by the lamb variety.click here to compare the two side-by-side. while the lamb version is based on high quality whole rice with a substantial 25% lamb, the chicken variety contains nutritionally inferior maize as its first ingredient and only 17.5% chicken (although it does also contain and unspecified amount of fish meal as well). apart from the herb mix, virtually every other ingredient also differs between the varieties so rapid changes between them might not be a good idea, especially for more sensitive dogs.conclusion:a fairly good, well priced food, but not as good as their lamb variety.
