Kieselgur

Kieselgur (sometimes spelt kieselguhr) is the German word for a form of soft, highly porous, sedimentary rock called diatomite. In dog food it performs a similar function to charcoal in absorbing toxins in the gut and reducing the incidence of wind. It is also mildly abrasive so it may also help to remove tooth plaque.
