Phosphoric Acid
Poor IngredientPhosphoric acid is an inorganic acid used in dog food as an acidity regulator and preservative. While phosphorus is an essential mineral for dogs, phosphoric acid is a highly processed additive rather than a nutritional source, and its use is generally considered unnecessary in a well-formulated diet. High phosphorus intake is a concern for dogs with kidney disease, as impaired kidneys struggle to excrete excess phosphorus. Its presence in dog food is not considered a mark of quality.
